About Me

I have always had a passion for helping people.  From my early career as a firefighter, I witnessed the devastating impact of personal and generational traumas on our culture and our world.  I retired after 20 years and moved to Colorado to be closer to nature and enjoy a deeper connection with the environment.

After a family member began to struggle with addiction, my own healing journey took on deeper meaning.  I enrolled in graduate studies in psychology and found healing in contemplative psychology and somatic meditation practice.  I discovered body-based psychotherapy as a way to unlock traumas hidden in the psyche and soul which often contribute to depression and anxiety.

I continue to cultivate my own health and healing on a daily basis and much of my journey informs how I work with clients today.  I am grateful to have had all the experiences throughout my life to lead me here.

My Approach

I approach this work as a guide, offering my expertise and skills as a fellow traveler on the path towards wholeness and well-being.  I believe that you are the ultimate expert on your unique self and I trust your inner healing intelligence to direct therapy.

In addition to my own lived experience, I bring the knowledge I have developed from extensive education and training.  Since receiving my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health counseling, I have continued to expand professionally through trainings in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, EMDR, and Internal Family Systems (IFS).  My somatic approach draws upon the natural wisdom of the body  (posture, movement, and the nervous system) to tap into the innate drive in all of us to heal, adapt, and develop new capacities.

The body holds much of the emotional patterns and memories that we have. When we tap into the intelligence of the body, we are able to access, release, and integrate our emotions and memories in new ways.  I work mindfully, relationally, and holistically to empower you to become your own healer.
